Multi-instrumentalist Luke Willis grew up steeped in Austin’s rich music scene and spent summers training at Berklee, NYU, Interlochen, and Mother Falcon Music Lab. By middle school, he was producing and releasing his own original songs.
In 2022, just as he entered high school, Luke landed a synch license for his first single, “Vibe Wit Me” (Paramount+ Fatal Attraction.) He followed with the single “Wake Up,” the EP I Wrote These Songs When I Was 14, and 2025 singles “Ride Away,” “Enough,” and “Just One Night,” building an audience along the way.
In 2026, with support from the Austin Live Music Fund, Luke recorded a five-song series with Austin producer Gordy Quist and session musicians from the Band of Heathens, with strings by Danny Levin, founding member of Asleep at the Wheel. Mirroring Luke’s own coming of age, the songs explore high school pressure (“For the Kids,” licensed by Fusion Education Group for podcast and national advertising), leaving home (“Last Day”), screen addiction (“Went Too Far”), the thrill of young adulthood (“Doing What You Do”), and heartbreak (“Almost”).
Luke writes from inside the iGen experience, turning its tensions and contradictions into music that reflects them: upbeat pop melodies capture the energy of his generation, while contemplative lyrics explore the anxiety, uncertainty, and isolation beneath the surface. His piano-forward, pop-driven sound is grounded in his acoustic roots, evoking Bruce Hornsby, Ben Folds, Chris Martin and Michael McDonald.
Now 19, Luke is beginning his next chapter at NYU’s Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music, where he plans to expand beyond songwriting and recording into a broader range of creative work. In a fragmented, digital world, his ambition is simple: to make music and content that help people feel something real.
